Finding a Halloween costume should be a fun quest for kids, parents and yes, your family pet! Fido might really enjoy having a part to play on Halloween night along with his family members. After all, dogs are very sensitive to change and Halloween is a night filled with noise and plenty of strangers knocking on the door. Wearing a costume just might make dog-sense to the family dog.
Your pet knows that something is different when Trick or Treaters ring the doorbell fifty times or more on October 31st. There's excitement in the air and Fido is no dumb bunny, unless of course, Fido is dressed up as a bunny rabbit. But that is another story altogether!
Animal Costumes for Your Pet
Here are a few fabulous ideas for the family pet. And if you have kids, why not have the dog's costume match your kids' costumes? For example, have the dog wear a bumblebee costume to go along with your young children in tree and flower costumes. If your dog is a monkey, your kids can be other jungle animals. Consider some of these:

Whatever the latest movie release is with superheros will have the costumes your kids want to wear. And whatever your kids become on Halloween night, your pets can be their wingmen in costumes made just for dogs.

Could it be that your pet is a princess, a cheerleader, a pirate or a prisoner? Is food the main focus of your pet's life? Try a hotdog or a taco costume for your little four-legged foodie.
Dogs Love to Do What Their Owners Do
I don't know about you and your dog but every dog I've ever had loves to get in on the family action.
If we're dancing to music, the dogs are right there. If we're tossing a ball around, they want to catch it. If we're toasting bread, they're inches away with their noses in the air.
And it's true, while we sing and play piano, we have a dog that sings with us too. Her repertoire is grand, although in a definite monotone. She sings along to songs in French, English and Hindi. She sings when we come home after being away, she sings when she's happy and she sings when she's asked. She really should have a microphone to go along with her Halloween costume this year.
So what are my dogs going to be this Halloween? My singing Peke is wearing her royal purple velvet cape with the gold tiara and my little Shi-Poo is going as a ball player. He would tell you if he could, bouncing balls are worth their weight in dog biscuits. Happy Halloween from our little goblins to yours.
